Talk about past sex lives being uncovered when Mercury is retrograding in Scorpio!

I’m not sure the latest revelation by JK Rowling is necessarily the best move for the wildly successful Harry Potter franchise, but the tone and the timing of the announcement are uncanny.

I was at a charity shop this afternoon and picked up Robert Graves’ The Greek Myths: I (1955) for pennies. ‘Mercury’ is the Roman name for the Greek god, Hermes. Graves’ account of the myth casts some insight into the nature of Mercury/Hermes, which I will paraphrase in parts and quote in parts here.

I’ve had a few questions lately about what Mercury retrograde is, and realised that one of the earliest posts explaining this phenomenon is buried in the archives from more than a year ago.

So I have posted a permanent link on the sidebar to a post I made in March 2006 explaining its effects as an FAQ, and will possibly add to the list if I get more questions.

Another major techno project launches during Mercury retrograde. I wonder if the retrograde actually attracts these product launches — like a lure to a trap!

Here’s a very useful table that gives the period and positions of Mercury retrograde from 1901 to 2000.

I think I will put up a new ‘Resources’ tab at the top of the page for quick reference.
